INTER ON VERGE OF SIGNING TONI

INTERNAZIONALE are reported to have agreed terms for Vicenza striker Luca Toni - with two of the Milan side's hottest prospects believed to be part of a players plus money deal.

Toni, who has also been linked with Premiership sides Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United, appears set to leave Serie A minnows Vicenza for the Giuseppe Meazza, where the 23-year-old would be competing with some of the world's best strikers for a place.

Vicenza look to be gaining two players as part of a projected £9 million deal with Inter prodigies Mohammed Kallon and Luca Corradi set to arrive permanently in the summer.

Both players currently find themselves away from the Neroazzurri on loan, with Kallon, a 21-year-old from Sierra Leone already in place at Vicenza, whilst 20-year-old Italian Corradi has scored four times in ten games for Chievo Verona in Serie B.

Toni would face stiff competition for places at Inter - with the hotly awaited comeback of a rejuvenated Ronaldo completing what could possibly be the most potent strike-force in the world, alongside such players as Christian Vieri, Alvaro Recoba and Hakan Sukur.
