PETIT PAIN WILL LEAD TO MOVE

EMMANUEL PETIT has once again insisted that he is suffering at Barcelona, and the Frenchman admits that he will take up an offer from England or Italy to move away from Spain in the summer.

The former Arsenal star, who also confessed his great admiration for Arsene Wenger, does not hold any hope of the Gunners boss arriving at Camp Nou ahead of next season, to ease his pain in Catalunya.

Wenger has been targeted by Barca but he looks likely to remain at Highbury, despite being flattered by the attention from president Joan Gaspart.

"You have to be careful about what you say at a club like Barca," admitted Petit. "Everything here is very politicised.

"If somebody understands the philosophy of the club, then I would like to speak to them.

"If I could go back in time, I would speak with some people before signing for Barcelona."

The World Cup winner, often employed as a defender when he has broken into Llorenc Serra Ferrer's side, certainly pulled no punches in the interview with Don Balon.

"A player in my situation who says he is happy is a damn liar," he slammed. "The life is wonderful when I am at home with my woman and my dogs but, outside of her, I am realistic.

"If I cannot play here, I will take care of the offers from Italy and England.

"Arsene Wenger is like a father to me. We often speak on the telephone and I am sure that he will not train Barca."
