CANNAVARO MAY QUIT PARMA IF STARS LEAVE

FABIO CANNAVARO has admitted that he may quit Parma if the club decide to cash in on their best players during the summer.

The Italian international had hinted that he would like to stay at the Ennio Tardini but with club president Callisto Tanzi claiming that a few star players must be sold in order to improve the club's financial status, Cannavaro is reconsidering his future.

Key men such as Lilian Thuram and Gianluigi Buffon have been linked with a number of top clubs across Europe and Parma may decide to sell them to raise much needed funds for next season's rebuilding plans.

"I will decide what to do within a month, but for the time being I have a pretty good idea of what I shall do," said Cannavaro. "Buffon is right, if either Thuram him or me get sold then we will all leave.

"At present 50 percent of the decision is in my hands and the rest is up to the management, but I can assure them right now that none of us are joking.

"I'm sure there are many teams who would love to have all three of us together, like Juventus for example, but it seems rather impossible as Parma will not want to improve a direct opponent in such a drastic manner."

There would be no shortage of clubs who would be interested the accomplished central defender, who impressed during Euro 2000, helping Italy to the final.

Roma, Lazio, Internazionale, Real Madrid, and Juventus are all big admirers of the 28-year-old and they would like to sign him for next season.
