CAMPBELL HINTS AT SPURS STAY

TOTTENHAM defender Sol Campbell has again stated he would stay at Tottenham, but only if new owners ENIC can impress him during contract talks.

Campbell is out of contract at the end of the season and has so far refused to sign a new deal at White Hart Lane, but the 26-year-old England defender says he wants to remain at Tottenham.

"Over the next week or two I'll be meeting with the new owners and there will be discussions about different situations at Tottenham Hotspur," Campbell said.

"They want to be successful so we've got to talk and see where we want to go as a club. These things take time.  You can't rush them.  I've had a couple of talks already and things so far have been positive.

"I'm not looking to move if they convince me about the future.  Whether or not a new manager is in place is not a big thing for me.  As long as the club is healthy and things are in place, then myself and other players will want to join Tottenham or continue with them.  I want to stay at Tottenham."

Campbell signed professional forms with the North London giants in 1992 after coming through the club's youth system.

The England international has been linked to a host of clubs including Manchester United, Liverpool and Bayern Munich as speculation regarding his future mounts as his contract expiry date grows closer.
