FIORENTINA: RUI COSTA NOT FOR SALE
FIORENTINA have reacted angrily to recent speculation linking captain Manuel Rui Costa with a move away from the club, by issuing a statement denying that he is available for transfer.
AC Milan were reportedly very keen on taking the Portuguese international to the Giuseppe Meazza in the summer, and Real Madrid were considering pairing him up with his great friend Luis Figo.
However, the Viola have not come out and stated that he is not leaving, in the vein hope they can fend if the interest from the other clubs.
The statement from the club said: "Manuel Rui Costa is not for sale. Although there have been a lot of offers for him, the player represents Fiorentina and the does not want him to leave."
