THURAM WANTS MALDINI PARTNERSHIP

LILIAN THURAM has fuelled the rumours linking him with a move away from Parma by admitting that it would be an honour to play in the same team as Milan ace Paolo Maldini.

The French international defender has insisted that he would have no hesitation in making a move away from the Ennio Tardini stadium if the club could not put together a team that would challenge for honours.

He again claimed that his priority is to play in a winning team, and Milan are certain to be a side who could offer the World Cup winner that opportunity.

Speaking on Telenova, Thuram revealed his admiration for Italian international Maldini, saying: "It would be a great honour to play alongside a player such as Maldini, but I don`t know if he would want to play alongside me.

"He is an amazing player and a great man."

Thuram then issued another warning to Parma, adding: "The most important thing is to play in a winning team and a team who are consistent in their results."
