BERGKAMP OUT OF SPURS CLASH
The Dutchman is still struggling with the Achilles' tendon injury which has ruled him out of the Gunners last two games and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has given up all hope of Bergkamp recovering and being fit for the game at Old Trafford.
"The scans on his foot do not look too bad but he still has pain and he won't be playing on Sunday," said Wenger. "I fear he could also be short for our league game at Manchester City on Wednesday."
Bergkamp's absence means that Wenger is left with just three of his strikeforce for the game and it looks likely that he will start with French pair Thierry Henry and Sylvain Wiltord ahead of Kanu, who looked out-of-sorts in the Champions League win over Valencia in midweek.
Wenger admits that there will not be many other changes to his side for the big cup clash.
"If there are any changes they will only be a few touches," said Wenger.
Meanwhile, Tottenham's main injury concern, Sol Campbell, has revealed that he is prepared to play through the pain barrier to line-up against Arsenal this weekend in Glenn Hoddle's first game in charge.
The game represents Spurs' only chance of success and captain Campbell is determined to be available for selection despite being troubled with the knee injury which he picked up on international duty for England against Albania last week.
The 26-year-old missed last weekend's dress rehearsal, which Arsenal won, and has been unable to train, but he is hopeful of playing in the cup encounter.
"My fitness is improving every day but we will have to wait and see," said Campbell.
"I'm going to give it as much time as possible to recover. It is the back end of the season and you are not going to get bigger games than this.
"It's huge and I'll do everything in my power to be out there. It's going to be a great occasion and I want to be there."
