RANGERS MAINTAIN SECOND SPOT
Neither side was in form going into the game with Hibs losing their last three games and Rangers losing three out of their last four, leaving a point each welcome for both sides.
With Celtic confirming their domination of the league by lifting the title on Saturday, Dick Advocaat's side strengthened their claim for a Champions League place by holding Hibs to a draw.
In a game that was short on chances both sides looked determined not to lose but lacked the cutting edge to fashion many clear-cut chances.
Bert Konterman had the first real chance when he fired in a fierce free kick from 25 yards that beat the wall but went straight at Hibs goalkeeper Nick Colgan.
With the teams cancelling each other out, Rangers did manage to get the ball into the back of the net in the second half, but Rod Wallace's effort was ruled offside.
Dutch international Arthur Numan then came close just after the hour mark, when his right foot shot from outside the box was touched onto the bar by Colgan.
Colgan was there again to stop a Tore Andre Flo shot, after he was put through by a Billy Dodds pass.
The result keeps Rangers on track for a Champions League place and leave Hibs, who have been in the top two for most of the season, now seeming to settle for a Uefa Cup spot.
