DEGN HOPES TO SEAL AGF DEAL
The 24-year-old midfielder was initially happy with life on Merseyside, but failed to make the desired progress under Walter Smith and took a loan spell to the Aarhus club.
He returned to Goodison Park, but is looking for a permanent transfer to his native country, and revealed that talks went well.
Speaking about his meeting with The Toffees, Degn said: "It was well received, although I won't get a final decision until tomorrow [Wednesday].
"It is my impression that AGF and Everton are close to reaching an agreement, and then my salary with AGF is the only missing issue."
AGF transfer guru Arne B. Jepsen, who is creating a transfer project, revealed the criteria for signings and hinted that a deal could be sealed shortly.
"Players should be between 20 and 30 years, so Soren Andersen is too old," Jepsen declared. "Peter Degn on the other hand is just 24 and at the same time a good investment.
"The project will first be ready around the 1st of May."
AGF director Michael Hyldgaard hinted at other transfer but pleaded poverty, saying: "In case AGF want to buy, we have got some possibilities, but we don't have the same resources as FCK and Brondby."
Meanwhile, AGF keeper Jacob Kragh will have foot surgery on Tuesday.
The seriousness of the problem will be diagnosed during the operation.
