BEAGRIE RETIRES SOMERSAULT CELEBRATION

WIGAN ATHLETIC winger Peter Beagrie has promised to concentrate on his game and retire his famous somersault celebration.

The former Bradford City wide-man revealed that he injured himself after scoring his first goal for The Latics, prompting him to pledge to manager Steve Bruce that his elaborate celebrations are a thing of the past.

The 35-year-old said: "I hurt my groin in my first match for Wigan doing a somersault after I scored.

"I was out injured for a while so I don`t think the boss would like to see me doing another one at my age."
