SHIELDS TO LEAVE VALLEY

CHARLTON ATHLETIC defender Greg Shields is set to leave the South London club, after he had a transfer request granted.

The 25-year-old Scot is being allowed to leave after he had a similar request rejected by the club in December.

Charlton paid Dunfermline £600,000 for Shields two years ago, but Bulgarian international Radostin Kishishev has since arrived and made the right back slot his own.

Bradford City could very well see Shields as an ideal sigining as manager Jim Jefferies is a known admirer, having made two unsuccesful bids for him whilst he was in charge at Hearts.

"Greg had asked for a transfer, but was told that he would not be available until Charlton were safe." said Shields` agent Jim McArthur.
