REGGAE BOYZ CALL-UP HYDE

WATFORD midfielder Micah Hyde has been called-up to the Jamaica squad to face Honduras in a World Cup qualifier next week, after finally pledging his international allegiance to the Reggae Boyz.

The 26-year-old ace had been mulling over whether to take up the offer to represent the island nation on the international stage after previously rejecting an earlier invitation from the Jamaican Football Federation.

Jamaica have been trying to get the player, who was born in London but qualifies to represent Jamaica through his parents, to pledge his future to the nation for some time and they have finally been successful.

The Caribbean nation hope that the attacking midfielder, who has scored six goals this season for Watford, can help them in their bid to reach their second successive World Cup finals, despite their mixed start to the qualifying campaign.

"He is the player that we have tried to obtain for the past two years and we have been successful," said Jamaica coach Clovis de Oliveira.
