BAYA SET TO LEAVE GERMANY

FREIBURG midfielder Zoubayer Baya is set to leave his club, and the German Bundesliga, at the end of the season.

Bundesliga rivals Weder Bremen are said to be chasing the Tunisian as a replacement for Andreas Herzog, but Baya has quashed those rumours by stating that; "I will not join another Bundesliga club".

Bremen manager Klaus Allofs would not comment on his club's interest in the player but it is thought that he will make a late attempt to keep him in the country.

If Baya does decide to leave he could be heading for the second division of either Italy or France.

Italian clubs have been put off by his wage demands but French club Sochaux have already offered him a contract.

Coach Jean Fernandez has lots of experience of Tunisian football and would like Baya in his side, who look likely to be promoted to the First Division next season.
