ANDERLECHT PULL OUT OF RACE FOR GREEK ACE

ANDERLECHT have pulled out of the race to sign Greek striker Michalis Konstantinou, and have also decided against signing Coventry City's Laurent Delorge.

The Belgian champions had seen Konstantinou as a possible replacement for either Jan Koller or Tomasz Radzinski - who are both leaving in the summer - and lodged a bid with his club Iraklis Salonika.

However, Panathinaikos have made a bid of £7 million and are now hot favourites to capture the highly rated hit-man.

Meanwhile, Delorge, who was on trial at the Constant Vaden Stock Stadion last month, will not be moving to Anderlecht after his stint with the club.

Coventry`s asking price of around £1 million has put the Brussels outfit off making the move permanent.
