POSH CLINCH FENN DEAL

PETERBOROUGH UNITED have completed the permanent signing of Neale Fenn from Tottenham Hotspur.

The 24-year-old striker, who has been on loan at London Road for a month, scoring five goals in four reserves games, has as expected signed a one-year deal to join Barry Fry's side.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international admitted he was delighted to have signed for The Posh after being left in the doldrums at Tottenham.

"I am very pleased to have signed for Peterborough United," said Fenn. "I am looking forward to hopefully playing first team football again and impressing the managers.

"As far as I can see, Posh have a very strong squad and there is very little difference between Spurs reserves and the Posh first team squad."

Posh assistant manager Wayne Turner was very happy to have secured the player's signature and he thinks he will do a good job for the Second Division outfit.

"We are delighted that we've managed to sign Neale Fenn," said Turner. "He will add variety to what we currently have at the squad as he plays with his back to goal and he has a very nice touch.

"I think he can be successful at this club but he is not match fit at the moment so we will be sending him away for the summer with a programme so we can reap the benefits next season."
