PHYSIO POSITIVE OVER HAYWARD'S PICKLE
BARNSLEY midfielder Steve Hayward has taken the first steps on his long road to recovery after successfully undergoing surgery.
Hayward is facing up to an agonising potential lay-off of a year after going under the knife in an attempt to recover from a knee injury.
"The operation itself went absolutely perfectly," said Tykes physio Jim Webb, "but Steve is still going to be out of action for another 12 months.
"It's going to be a long and slow process for Steve and we must take our time and be positive with him."
