LEWIS TO LEAVE COTTAGERS

AMERICAN international midfielder Eddie Lewis has admitted he is likely to leave Division One champions Fulham in the summer after failing to make the breakthrough at Craven Cottage.

Lewis, who joined the West London outfit from Major League Soccer side San Jose Earthquales in February last year, has struggled to establish him in the first team despite impressing in the reserves.

"Hopefully in the summer, with the team going up and buying bunch of new players, Fulham will try to balance the books and let the players go who can go to new clubs," said Lewis.

"If I can do that, that's definitely my top priority. There are a few teams around who are aware of me and know the situation.

"I'm sort of waiting on what Fulham going to ask me. Assuming it won't be too much, I'll get something worked out."

The 26-year-old has indicated that he would like to prove himself in England and he would like to stay in London if possible.

Watford, Millwall, Brentford and QPR are all beleived to be interested in him and they have watched him over the course of the season, but his wages could be a problem to any deal.
