GAZZA SUFFERS NEW INJURY BLOW

EVERTON midfielder Paul Gascoigne was dealt yet another injury blow on Wednesday night when he was forced to undergo a further operation, throwing his career into doubt.

The 33-year-old has been plagued with injury this season and required further surgery on his groin in a private Merseyside hospital.

Gazza was hoping to be back for Everton's last game of the season against Sunderland, but his comeback has yet again failed.

The former England star sustained this injury in the reserves as he was trying to recover from knee trouble, but his future is now seriously in doubt after his third operation of the season.

Boss Walter Smith is concerned that Gazza had only managed 10 starts this season at Goodison Park, and is considering letting him leave rather than take a gamble on a player who also has a torn thigh muscle and may not be able to recover from the latest injury blow.
