BRECHET DELIGHT AT FRENCH CALL
LYON'S Jeremie Brechet admitted he was shocked at receiving a call-up for the Franch squad for the forthcoming Confederations Cup.
Eleven of the squad chosen are still plying their trade in L'Championnat with six being named for the first time, including Brechet.
"It's a big surprise. I didn't know when the selector picked the list and I really didn't think I could be selected," he said.
"When people told me, I couldn't believe it. It's both a huge surprise and a great happiness."
Leeds' Olivier Dacourt was equally delighted, but believes he may only be there because of the notable absencee's.
"My agents, Eric Renaut and Bruno Sation told me the news. I am very happy," he said.
"But with the number of absences, nothing is established."
