FRANKFURT RELEASE HELDT

EINTRACHT FRANKFURT general manager Rolf Dohmen has revealed that midfielder Horst Heldt will not be offered a new contract for next season.

The relegation of Frankfurt from the Bundesliga has forced the club to cut the wage bill and Heldt is unlikely to be the only player released by the club.

Tommy Berntsen and Karel Rada have failed to justify their £1 million price tags and will be sold at a loss.

Berntsen could link up with former Eintracht coach Felix Magath at Stuttgart and Rada will probably return to the Czech Republic.

Frankfurt coach Friedel Rausch will try to hold on to stars Thorsten Kracht and Thomas Sobotzik, but both players want to stay in the Bundesliga and Energie Cottbus could be their destination if they can survive the drop.
