TURNER WIELDS POOL AXE

The Pool boss has axed no fewer than nine of his charges, including names such as Sam Shilton, Darren Knowles and Craig Midgley.

That trio is joined by veterans Gary Strodder (pictured) and Neil Aspin, along with Lee Fitzpatrick, Andy McAvoy and Andy Brownrigg, while Norwegian striker Tim Sperrevik has re-joined his former club Fana.
 
"There was always going to be one or two surprises in this list," admitted Turner. "There are reasons for keeping some of the players on it and reasons for releasing them.

"Now we are going to look ourselves at the released lists from clubs in the first and second divisions and see what is on offer.

"I reckon we will be bringing in three or four new faces to really strengthen the side and make us ready for promotion next season."
