HAMBURG DUO FACE BAN

HAMBURG duo Marek Heinz and Stig Tofting have been banned by the German Football Federation for their conduct in the final Bundesliga game of the season.

Hamburg were leading 1-0 against Bayern Munich when referee Dr Markus Merk awarded a controversial 90th minute free-kick, which lead to a last-gasp equaliser for the Bavarian side.

Tofting (pictured) and Heinz confronted the referee about the decision and Merk claims in his post-match report that he "was attacked by an outstretched hand."

Czech international Heinz will receive a ban until July 5 for unsporting behaviour and pay a 10,000 Mark fine.

Tofting, 31, must pay a 7500 Mark fine and receives a ban until June 18 for insulting the referee.
