DERBY REFUTE TRANSFER RUMOURS

DERBY COUNTY'S assistant manager Colin Todd has dismissed suggestions that the club are set to sign Bolton's Per Frandsen and also refuted several other links.

Derby were strongly linked with a move for Frandsen in the English press, and the club have seen a wealth of links to other players including Ramon Vega, Tommy Svindal Larsen and Stijn Vreven.

"Bolton contacted me about Per before the transfer deadline but he will not be coming to Derby," said Todd.

"We have a number of central defenders so we wouldn't want to sign another in Vega and I have never even heard of Larsen," he added.

"We look at hundreds of players in a season so we have seen Vreven play before, but we have not made a move for him, nor have we spoken to the club, the player or his agents."

A spokesman for the club also reiterated to planetfootball that 'there was nothing in the stories.'
