SWEDISH JOY MARRED BY SCHWARZ INJURY
Swedish manager Tommy Soderberg praised his team for their persistence and determination, stating: "I was very pleased that we scored in the dying seconds. It gave us strength.
"However, we still need to improve our defending and not get caught on the counter-attack."
Goal hero Markus Allback could not hide his delight at getting on the scores-sheet, beaming: "I was fortunate to score two goals but it feels wonderful.
"We got more support today and we were patient when building up the play.
"We have to enjoy this victory but look ahead to the clash with Moldova on Wednesday at the same time. It would be nice to go on holiday with six points."
However, Sweden were rocked by the news that key midfielder Schwarz aggravated a knee-injury in the game and is likely to miss the Moldova match.
"We removed cartilage and about one third of the exterior meniscus," said Sweden team doctor Magnus Forssblad. "There shouldn't be any problems. He'll rest for a week and then start training on the bike."
The Sunderland player revealed the extent of his injury, stating: "The manager didn't want to take a chance and I can understand that."
The crunch game for Sweden comes in September when they face leaders Turkey and Soderberg will be hoping that Henrik Larsson rediscovers his goalscoring touch.
Larsson, 29, has been prolific for Celtic this season scoring 50-plus goals but has yet to transform his form on to the international stage.
The Glasgow hit-man seems unfazed by his Swedish goal-draught, adding: "It would have been nice to score, but the team played well and that is the main thing."
