VIOLA TARGET PIACENZA DUO
The Piacenza goalkeeper Flavio Roma is now set to replace Francesco Toldo, who is set to join Barcelona.
Roma has impressed this season in Serie B and Fiorentina are prepared to give him a chance in Serie A.
The Viola are also chasing Piacenza midfielder Sergio Volpi, who is rated as one of the best midfielders outside Italy's top-flight
The 27-year-old, who was very impressive with Bari during his spell at the Southern club four years ago has spent the last few seasons playing with Venezia and Piacenza in Serie B.
Meanwhile, the Viola have sold Mauro Bressan to Venezia for a fee of around £ 1 million and he is expected to complete the deal over the weekend.
Fiorentina are also believed to be holding talks with French side Paris Saint Germain about the possible transfer of Portuguese international striker Nuno Gomes, who has failed to establish himself at the Artemio Franchi since his move from Benfica last summer.
