VALENCIA IN SALGADO LINK
VALENCIA are believed to have turned their attention to Real Madrid's Michel Salgado after Alaves' Romanian international Cosmin Contra turned down a move to the Champions League runners-up.
Salgado was rumoured to be used as a bait for Juventus' Zinedine Zidane, but with Real looking for a new right-sided defender, it would appear his time at the Santiago Bernabeu is limited.
Valencia are looking to replace the aging Jocelyn Angloma, who at 35 is in the autumn of his career.
A deal linked with Gaizka Mendieta leaving the Mestalla for Real has been reported, although this would appear unlikely.
The agents of Mendieta, Alberto Toldra and Gines Carvajal are the same as Salgado's, which has led to the rumours flourishing.
