NO CAUDWELL MOVE, DIV 2 ROUND-UP

OLDHAM boss Andy Ritchie has ruled out a move for Doncaster Rovers wing-back Matt Caudwell.

Although he is keen to sign the defender, Doncaster are not keen on allowing him to leave Belle Vue, with Ritchie saying: "We asked what kind of fee they were looking for but Doncaster want to keep him and it went no further."

Wycombe duo Paul Emblen and Jermaine McSporran are hoping that they can return to fitness in time for pre-season training.

Both players have been sidelined by cruciate ligament injuries and Chairboys boss Lawrie Sanchez will be keeping his fingers crossed that they will be fully fit for the start of the new campaign.

Cambridge defender Andy Duncan's recovery from surgery on a broken leg is currently going to plan.

The 23-year-old has been out-of-action for the past 18 months after having a steel plate inserted in the limb, but that has now been removed and replaced by an ankle brace.

"He's got a full range of movement back in his ankle but the rehab work's continuing and the brace is helping a lot," said physio Greg Reid.

Colin Cramb's proposed move to cash-strapped Bury looks to have hit yet another snag after Dario Gradi confirmed that the striker will not be released on a free transfer.

"We just won't let him go there for nothing," said the Crewe boss. "We haven't seen him since the end of the season as he dclined the opportunity to train here this summer."

Stoke City defender Clive Clarke says that he doesn't want to leave the Potteries club in spite of reports suggesting that he is unsettled.

"I am happy at the minute and hopefully I am going to get a good run in the side," he remarked. "We'll see how the new season starts and take it from there."

Huddersfield's Jon Dyson looks set to miss out on his own testimonial game against Manchester City on July 31.

The 29-year-old recently underwent surgery on a back problem and it will be at least four weeks until he is able to resume training.
