UNSWORTH TO GET NEW DEAL
EVERTON have revealed that they are in talks with defender David Unsworth over a new contract for the central defender.
The 27-year-old has 12 months left on his current deal at Goodison Park and the player himself thought he would be leaving next year, after The Toffees had failed to talk to him, but now he looks set to get a new contract.
"We have opened up negotiations with David Unsworth's representatives regarding an extension to his current contract," chief executive Michael Dunford told the club's website.
Unsworth has spent most of his career at Goodison Park, albeit one season with West Ham in 1997 and a month-long stay at Aston Villa after that, before returning to his beloved Everton.
