EASTON DELIGHT FOR CANARIES

NORWICH CITY have signed midfielder Clint Easton from First Division rivals Watford.

The 23-year-old has signed a four-year deal with the club after being transfer-listed by Hornets boss Gianluca Vialli.

The Italian is keen to take a broom to the squad which he inherited from Graham Taylor as he looks to bring his own men into the Vicarage Road set-up.

Easton made 79 appearances for Watford in a career which spanned five years, although his goal output is notoriously poor - scoring just twice since signing professional terms in 1994.

Meanwhile, Fernando Derveld has been shown the Carrow Road door after having his contract terminated by mutual consent.

The former Willem II defender will be glad to draw a line under what has been a disastrous one-year spell in Norfolk which saw him fail to fit into the plans of manager Nigel Worthington after he was initially brought to the club by Bryan Hamilton.

Derveld has been on trial with Odense and will be hoping to secure a contract elsewhere.
