AGENT '100% CERTAIN' RIISE WILL BE A RED

JOHN ARNE RIISE'S mother claims she is '100% certain' the Norwegian ace will reject a move to Fulham and sign for Liverpool instead.

Berit Riise, who also helps look after her son's affairs, had earlier said an agreement with Fulham had been reached and he would complete the deal on Monday, but she has since back-tracked and said the Merseyside giants will now land his signature.

"We are 100% certain that this deal will go through," she said.

"If everything goes to plan then he will be a Liverpool player from next week.

"The plane tickets to Liverpool have already been booked. We will have talks with the club on Monday, and at the same time John Arne will undergo a medical."

Riise has made no secret of his desire to quit Monaco and fell out with former coach Claude Puel after publicly stating his wish to move on.

However, the sale of Riise appeared unclear when his former club Aalesund demanded 20% of the fee which they had insisted on when he was sold to Monaco.

"As far as Aalesund are concerned there was a slight disagreement about how their 20% would be worked out," she said, "but everything is sorted out now."

Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry has confirmed the negotiations will take place on Monday.

"He's coming over on Monday after Monaco gave us permission to speak with him," said Parry. "There are still some discussions to take place."
