NUNO GOMES IN LAZIO SWAP BID

After initially setting up a swap deal involving Christian, the Serie A club are considering exchanging the Portuguese international with Simone Inzaghi.

"The swap of Nuno Gomes for Simone Inzaghi is possible," Viola representative Mario Sconcerti revealed. "The Portuguese player likes Lazio very much and Inzaghi is much appreciated by our coach, Roberto Mancini."

Relations  between the two clubs are good, with Sinisa Mihajlovic and Moreno Torricelli being swapped on Friday.

The news will be a blow to PSG boss Luis Fernandez, who had claimed he was "80 percent" certain of buying the Euro 2000 star.

Fernandez is frustrated that Christian, Vampeta and Aloui Cisse have not yet returned for pre-season training.

"During four years in Bilbao, I never saw any lateness for training sessions," he protested. "Even if Nuno Gomes remains our priority, we are forced to study other trails."

That could lead to Samuel Eto'o, the Real Madrid forward on loan with Mallorca, although he would be rather expensive.

"Eto'o could create a big surprise," admitted Fernandez.
