DARIO SILVA IN DEMAND
The Uruguayan striker has been the subject of a formal approach from Betis, but this has not been followed up with a substantial bid, since their promotion back to the top flight.
"We do not have anything officially," said Daniel Delgado, one of Dario Silva's agents. "Malaga made an offer in case the team got promoted, but there is nothing at the moment."
Delgado's partner, Paco Casal has suggested Villa boss John Gregory has made a bid, after watching the forward in action recently.
Villa have targeted West Ham hit-man Frederic Kanoute, with the latest rumours indicating that a swap deal involving David James could be negotiated, even though the England keeper stated his intent to remain in the Midlands.
Hammers boss Glenn Roeder has already declared there will be no more big-name exits from Upton Park, following the sale of Frank Lampard to Chelsea, and Kanoute will be a difficult target to prise away from East London.
Newcastle United have also been keeping tabs on Dario Silva, who is keen to quit La Rosaleda and secure a lucrative summer transfer, and there will be continued speculation about his future.
