RUI COSTA: "I WOULD MOVE TO REAL AT ONCE"

FIORENTINA playmaker Rui Costa has revealed that he would welcome a move to La Liga champions Real Madrid in the wake of recent claims that the Viola have filed for bankruptcy.

The 29-year-old midfield general has been linked with clubs ubiquitous in Europe with Milan and Real Madrid emerging as favourites for his signature.

Costa's agent has already confirmed Madrid's interest in the former Benfica player but now the Portuguese international has admitted his desire to play at the Bernabeu.

"The team is about to be dismantled and if Real Madrid want me, I wouldn't think twice," stated the much-coveted star.

The Fiorentina coach Roberto Mancini has denied that his midfield linchpin would be leaving the Artemio Franchi but if the estimated £33 million debt is true the ex-Sampdoria striker may have his hand forced.

Costa is believed to favour a move to Madrid, as it offers the opportunity for him to link up with friend and international team-mate Luis Figo.

"I would move to Real at once because they are one of the biggest teams in the world and I would be able to play with Figo," declared the player.
