LIBBRA STARTS NORWICH TALKS

FRENCH striker Marc Libbra has entered into talks with First Division side Norwich City after his proposed move to Hibernian fell through.

Libbra was looking for a permanent move to Easter Road after his loan spell with the club but Toulouse refused to do business after asking Hibs to double their original offer for the player.

The Frenchman has now said that he has travelled to Carrow Road to begin talks with Norwich.

"I'm talking to Norwich and I have permission to have a look around for a couple of days," said Libbra.

It now looks certain that Hibs will miss out on Libbra, although he was very keen to join Alex McLeish's side.

"Right now it seems certain I won't be joining Hibs and that makes me very sad.

"They have done everything they can to sign me and I really wanted to join them, but the problem is money.

"I don't know why Toulouse keep asking for big money for me all the time, no-one can understand that."

The French side could lose out, however, as a result of their deepening financial troubles.

Toulouse have been relegated down to the Third Division in France as a result of being heavily in debt and Libbra could wait until the situation is resolved before moving, which could see him go for nothing.
