CONNOLLY FOR CRUNCH CONTRACT TALKS

DAVID CONNOLLY has contacted the Feyenoord board and stated his demands, ahead of a crunch contract meeting between player and club.

The Irish forward is out of contract and free to negotiate a transfer away from De Kuip, but he is keen to stay provided his demands are met.

Connolly has been one of the highest earners in Holland for a number of years but, despite impressing at the latter stages of last season, has been offered a deal that will reduce his wages.

This has upset Connolly but the other interested parties, most notably AZ Alkmaar, could not match his demands.

A lack of suitable options prompted the player`s representative to contact Feyenoord with new demands, and they set to sit down and thrash out personal terms.
