CROUCH TO ENTER POMPEY
PETER CROUCH looks set to move to Portsmouth for a club record £1.5 million.
The QPR star has been linked with a succession of clubs in the past couple of months, and Rangers' relegation has ultimately led to the lanky striker's exit from London.
Portsmouth are now on the verge of splashing out a massive fee for the 20-year-old - staving off interest from Burnley and Preston North End.
Crouch impressed in his first football league season with QPR - picking up ten goals and a number of admirers.
Sunderland were believed to be interested in the youngster, but serious interest was limited mainly to Division One, and Portsmouth look to have snapped up one of the hottest properties around.
