MATT ADMITS CELTIC INTEREST
The 32-year-old has previously shunned suggestions that he would team-up with former Foxes boss Martin O`Neill at Celtic Park, but now he has admitted that he would like to move to Parkhead.
"Obviously I would be interested in speaking to Celtic and I would have to say yes to them," said Elliott.
"With a few defenders leaving they are looking and maybe that is why I have been linked to them.
"It`s a bit awkward for me to say too much, because I`m a Leicester player and they are my club, but Celtic are a massive club and I think everyone who knows anything about football knows that. Martin is a great manager and everyone also knows that."
The Bhoys are looking to bring in another central defender as both Ramon Vega and Alan Stubbs have left the club on Bosman transfers after the pair rejected the offers of new deals to stay with the champions and instead opted to move to England with Watford and Everton respectively.
The news of Elliott`s interest in Celtic is sure to be disheartening to the Leicester management, who are already fighting top hang onto midfielder Muzzy Izzet, who like his defensive team-mate has expressed his desire to leave Filbert Street.
Despite his obvious interest in the Scottish treble winners, Elliot has insisted that he has heard nothing from O'Neil and that the club have not received any offers for him.
"As far as I'm aware, there hasn't been any contact between Celtic and leicester, which is the normal procedure.
"I'm just one of loads of Leicester players who have been linked with Celtic this summer.
"I take it all with a pinch of salt and my situation hasn't changed, I'm just relaxing during the close-season before we start pre-season training again on Monday."
