NEW KEEPER FOR BARCA

ROBERTO OSCAR BONANO flew into Barcelona on Thursday to complete his £3 million transfer from Argentinian giants River Plate.

The 31-year-old goalkeeper will undergo a medical with a view to signing a three-year contract at the Catalan club.

After failing to land their number one target, Francesco Toldo, from Fiorentina, the Blaugrana turned their attentions to the South American shot-stopper.

Bonano has Italian parentage and will therefore not require a work permit to play in La Liga.

The keeper is Barcelona's fourh signing of the summer after Geovanni Deiberson, Fabio Rochemback, Philippe Christanval.

Bayern Munich defender Patrick Andersson is having his own medical in order to finalise his transfer from the European champions.
