EVERTON STILL WANT RAD

EVERTON have confirmed that they are still interested in Tomasz Radzinski, but admit that talks will not last forever.

Walter Smith saw the Jupiler League top-scorer as the ideal replacement for Francis Jeffers, who moved to Arsenal last month.

"We remain interested in him, but negotiations cannot go on forever," said an Everton spokesman.

However, Anderlecht have always rebuffed any approaches from the Toffees, claiming that they have not acted properly over the deal and despite the player`s insistence he wants to move to Goodison, it looks increasingly unlikely that he will get his wish.

"We will not let Radzinski join Everton," said general manager Michel Verschueren.

"They have not played the game properly."

"Even if they come back to us tomorrow with a fresh bid, they will be told that there is no question of Radzinski leaving Anderlecht. He is still under contract with us for two more years."

Everton will probably wait until next week to see if Anderlecht accept their offer, but are likely to start looking elsewehere as pre-season training begins in earnest next week.
