OKOCHA KEEN TO STAY AT PSG
The 27-year-old Nigeria international midfielder spent most of his time on the bench at the Parc Des Princes last season, starting only nine games, and he had been linked with a move away in search of regular first-team football.
The skilful playmaker, who joined the club in 1998 from Fenerbahce for £10 million, was injured for most of last term and he admitted he thought about leaving the club.
"When I went on holiday I was about 50-50," he said in Le Parisien.
"I was just coming out of a bad season and I started to think about whether I should change club.
"I was not the only one, the club's directors were also wondering if they still wanted me or not.
"The situation was a bit complicated for everyone."
Okocha feels he has not had enough opportunities to show he is worthy of a place in Luis Fernandez's line-up and he wants to win his place back next season.
"I was injured when Luis arrived and then I played a lot with Nigeria, it was then difficult for him to trust me and include me into his plans," said Okocha. "I'm also rather shy and there was some distance between him and me.
"Even if I had good reasons, I think I have not given enough to the team and I hope Luis will trust me this season.
"I don't want to stay on the bench all the time. I love playing and I'll do everything to be a first-team regular.
"I don't want to leave anymore, I came to Paris to win titles."
