REBROV ADMITS SPURS DISENCHANTMENT

SERGEI REBROV has admitted in the Russian media that his long-term future is not with Tottenham.

The Ukrainian international was not a success during his first season in England and it has long been rumoured that Milan want to team him up again with his former Dinamo Kiev colleague Andrei Shevchenko.

"I'm not seriously putting down my roots in London," he told Sport Express.

"My present team, which I hope to see qualify for the Champions League in the new season, is not the top of my dreams.

"I admire the parks in London although, on my way to the city from my home in Chigwell, I pass such neglected Arab districts that I instinctively press my foot on the accelerator."

Glenn Hoddle will need to get the talented striker in the right frame of mind for the start of the new campaign, promising a better supply line being provided by summer recruit Teddy Sheringham.

Agent Sandor Varga denied his client is unhappy, contradicting the comments of the Ukrainian star.

"He is very happy at Spurs," he claimed. "Especially now that Glenn Hoddle is manager.

"He is really looking forward to the new season and has already struck up a great rapport with Teddy Sheringham."
