ENKE IN BAYERN LINK
The 23-year-old shot-stopper has only one year remaining on his current contract and Benfica fear they may lose him for nothing on a Bosman free transfer.
According to reports emanating from Portugal the player is believed to be holding out for a move to Champions League winners Bayern Munich when his contract expires.
The highly-rated keeper is keen to move to Germany to try and break into the national team and Bayern would offer him that ideal opportunity.
It is not known whether Bayern would be keen on the player as they have offered current number one keeper Oliver Kahn a new deal which would see him stay at the Olympic Stadium until 2008.
Should Kahn sign a new deal with Bayern it is unlikely that Enke would want to move to play understudy to the 32-year-old.
Benfica are keen to hold onto him but as yet have failed to convince him to sign a new deal and they would prefer to sell him rather than lose him for nothing.
