PALACE AGREE FEE FOR BORO ACE
The Teesside-born striker has been discussing his future with new boss Steve McClaren and now it is apparent that his future lies elsewhere, after Boro accepted the offer from the South London club.
Palace manager Steve Bruce has been a long-term admirer of the 22-year-old, having already signed him once on loan during his career, while he was in charge at Sheffield United.
Boro boss Steve McClaren thinks the move is a formality, commenting: "It's just up to the player to go and have a look around and agree terms.
"It was something that happens in football. We agreed if we thought it was a good deal for the club and also looking at Andy's career it was also deemed a good move for the player, then we would consider it.
"We've done our end of the bargain by thinking it's a good opportunity for Middlesbrough Football Club and for the player.
"Now he's just got to decide if it's a good opportunity for Andy Campbell."
Campbell, who has scored nine goals in 80 appearances for Boro, spent the latter part of last season on loan at Bolton, before returning and handing in a transfer request.
