COLOSIMO HAPPY AT 'MONSTER' CLUB
The former South Melbourne man made his debut in the friendly against Halifax Town, impressing in the Division One club's 2-1 victory.
The travelling fans were delighted with their new signing's ability to skilfully bring the ball out of defence. His ability on and with the ball looks set to become a feature of City's backline this season.
"I think the first ten minutes were a little bit nerve-racking to be honest but, after that, I enjoyed the half a lot," said Colosimo.
"I sometimes play with a little bit too much flair for everybody's liking, but that's the type of football I play and it depends a lot on what the score is how I play."
Colosimo has settled in well despite admitting to be overwhelmed at first by the size of the club that he had joined.
"When I first looked around, I was surprised how big the club is," he confessed. "It's a monster - but everyone has made me really welcome here.
"I feel right at home already."
Club size is not the only difference the young man from Melbourne will have to grow accustomed to, with the pace and standard of Division One football much different to the Australian NSL.
"The pace is much faster here, training is sharper and quicker than it was at home," he added.
"I've enjoyed it though, and think things will get better for me as time goes on."
Although pushing for a first team place is his goal, he is realistic about his chances.
"The squad has been together for a few seasons now and I have to break it up if I want a first team spot that I'd love."
Colosimo also reflected the optimism that has enveloped Maine Road, saying "I haven't seen any other First Division teams but the way everyone has been talking in training they're very optimistic about our chances of moving back into the Premier League."
