WELL WELL FOR TARRANT

MOTHERWELL are signing Aston Villa reserve Neil Tarrant in a three-month loan deal.

The former Ross County forward could even make a permanent switch to Fir Park after failing to make a major impression at Villa Park.

Colchester United were interested in the 22-year-old last season, and he earlier spent some time on loan with York City.

"He is a proven goalscorer and spent a couple of years with a big club," said Well boss Billy Davies.

"He is still under contract there and, at the moment, I am just delighted to get him up here and playing for us.

"If he scores a few goals, we will take it from there."

The proposed deal scuppers trialist Eddy Bembuana's hopes of earning a contract with Well, who enjoy a special relationship with Villa.
