ATLETICO PURSUE JOSE MARI LOAN

ATLETICO MADRID are in talks with Milan over the possible return of Jose Mari, who left Los Rojiblancos for the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza two years ago.

If the deal goes through, Jose Mari will initially return to Madrid on loan. Atletico would then have the option to buy him, but that could all depend on whether or not the club gain promotion.

Jose Mari joined Milan in December 1999 for a fee of 3000 million pesetas. Even though the Spanish star has played many games for Milan, he admits that he would like to play for Luis Aragones.

Jose Mari revealed to Marca, that he hopes both clubs can reach an agreement quickly.

"The Italian league is very tough, very competitive, but I have found a way into a team the size of Milan," said the former Atletico idol .

"I think this has been a positive experience and next season, if they allow me to go on loan to Atletico, I will continue with my contract at Milan, developing my career in football."
