FA CHARGE AGENT ROACH
The inquiry began last September after a letter of complaint about Roachwas sent to the FA.
This followed the transfer of Wanchope from West Ham to Manchester City as well as the protracted deal which saw Ferguson return to Everton from Newcastle.
Newcastle boss Bobby Robson blamed Roach for delaying Ferguson's £3.75 million move to Goodison Park while then City manager Joe Royle said he would never deal with the agent again after the Costa Rican's transfer from West Ham.
Roach is alleged to have received payments from more than one source and is accused of bringing the game into disrepute.
If found guilty, Roach faces having his FA licence to be an agent being taken away from him.
An FA statement said: "The Football Association today (Friday) charged football agent Dennis Roach with a breach of five FA regulations, which govern licensed agents.
"The first charge refers to regulation 22, which covers accepting monies from persons other than his principal client in numerous unidentified relevant transactions.
"Three of the charges relate to the transfer of Paulo Wanchope from West Ham United to Manchester City. These charges refer to regulations 18, 24, 19 and 22 twice.
"A further charge concerns the transfer of Duncan Ferguson from Newcastle United to Everton. This charge refers to regulations 18 and 24.
"Dennis Roach has 14 days to respond to these charges."
