DURKAN SUFFERS FREAK INJURY
ROCHDALE'S new signing Kieron Durkan faces a spell on the sidelines after suffering a freak injury which resulted in him being rushed to hospital.
Durkan, a free transfer capture from Third Division rivals Macclesfield, suffered severe burns after team mate Richard Green spilled a boiling kettle on his legs.
"Greeney is distraught. It was a pure accident and Kieron was in the wrong place at the wrong time," Dale boss Steve Parkin said.
Durkan (pictured) is poised to miss Saturday's friendly at East Fife, but should be fit for the start of the new season in two weeks time.
