BLUEBIRDS IN FOREST ACE LINK

NOTTINGHAM FOREST are reported to have rejected a £1 million bid from Cardiff City for midfielder Andy Johnson.

The former Norwich City ace was a top summer target for Bluebirds boss Alan Cork, according to the local Nottingham press, as the Division Two outfit looked to continue their policy of bringing top Welsh talent to Ninian Park.

27-year-old Johnson, although capped by England at youth level, is a full international for Wales.

After costing Forest £2.2 million, they may be looking to recoup more of that sum, even though new manager Paul Hart confessed that all of his squad are open to offers, such is the financial plight at The City Ground.

Meanwhile, Forest's released French forward Bernard Allou is due to start a trial with Belgian outfit RWDM Molenbeek on Monday.
