LIBBRA SAGA TO RUMBLE ON

CONFUSION still surrounds the on-going transfer of French striker Marc Libbra to Norwich City from Toulouse.

The First Division club are still waiting to hear if they have to pay a fee for the highly-rated forward, or get him for nothing.

The Canaries have been told by the French Football League (LNF) that they would not have to pay a fee with Toulouse in administration, but the troubled side claim they have agreed a £400,000 deal for the player which must be paid before he can move to Carrow Road.

Toulouse are set to launch an appeal against the LNF's decision, but in the meantime, international clearance for Libbra to play competitively in England cannot be sought.

An administrator at the club, Maitre Michel Bourdet, admitted there were other options for securing a deal and that he was waiting to hear from Norwich.

"I sent a fax to Norwich on Friday and told them I would appeal against the LNF decision, which I find abusive and false, with an administrative tribunal," said Bourdet.

"However not to jeopardise Libbra's move I suggested we should conclude the deal and place the money into a frozen account, until the result of my appeal is known.

"I'm doing all I can to make sure this deal is made, but so far I have not heard from Norwich."
